We are all to much familiar with the amazing War Craft 3 map by the name of DOTA ( defense of the ancients )
Dota has been around for some time now, AKA for like almost 10 years now. Once it was introduced to the players, they went nuts for it.
Warcraft 3 was famous and nice as it is, but when DotA came out, even Warcraft 3 ratings have improved DRAMATICALLY !
To cut the chitchat, everyone was enjoying Dota but it was lacking that 3d person type of game play.
Well.. SMITE is the 3rd person DOTA game.
Instead of heroes, you choose a GOD. They are actually real gods, or more like gods from real mythologies and religions.
It is considered to be a MOBA - ARTS type of video game.
It was released in March 2014, and ever since its popularity has been through the roof.
As mentioned above, players choose from a vast selections of gods, or mythical// legendary creatures. The objective of the game ( in all of the playable types of games that it offers ) is to kill the enemy by destroying either their titan, or their arena points so they loose.
All in all, for a game that is around for a few months its a well earned

#4 MINDCRAFT
There is not a living being human or animal that has not heard of this video game.
Mindcraft was mainly made as a game in which you would break and place blocks to aid yourself and others from nocturnal creatures/ monsters.
But as time passed and the game grew, so did the imagination of players, thus it led to players grouping up and creating amazing and wonderful things.
But no player is limited just for building blocks, you can also be an adventurer, a lumberjack, a traveler and a lot more amusing things.You can find a lot of hilarious mindcraft videos on youtube. :) The game is random and its fun.

#3 World of Warcraft
World of warcraft also known as WOW, is probably the most famous video game in the universe, not just the world.
There is no living soul that has not seen and or played WOW.
When WoW cameout the word NOLIFER got a new meaning. Nolifers have leveled up and became pros at nolifing.
World of Warcraft was and still is one of the BEST MMORPG video games of all time, and it will probably stay that way for a LONG LONG TIME.

The game by itself is highly complex, and with every new update it was made a tad bit more unique.
Out of the all updates it had, a few were really great. And the newest one, the WARLORD OF DRAENOR is going to be KICK ASS!
The history of all the Warcraft video games will be mashed up into this, and of course Gromash hellscream, better known as Grom hellscream will be there! :D

Another DOTA type game, only unlike SMITE this one is actually developed by one of the original creators of the oh so famous WC Map.
IceFrog the co-creator of dota decided to make a game that will be identical to the map, but not a simple WC 3 map, but rather a real video game.
That is how boys and girls Dota2 was born.
The graphics of the game are stunning, and above all else, it has the soul of the original in it.
Lets say that Icefrog did a good job all alone, without his, lets call him mentor Steve Feak - Guinsoo

Most of you have guessed it, and ofcourse the number 1 game of 2014 is the game that everyone is talking about, the game which has a world competition dedicated to it, the game that has a song dedicated to it, just like the original game it was based on.
Imagine dragons have recorded a song just for it...

This one will be written in bold letters because this game does deserve to be at the top.
League of legends or short LOL, is another DOTA type game which has the original creator of the famous WC 3 map working as a leading designer at riot games specializing for LOL.
The man who i am talking about is of course Steve Feak - GUINSOO. So lets say that Dota2 and League of legends are opponents, rivals and maybe even enemies.
Enough about the creators, lets talk about the game. Unlike in the original the player doesent just command the hero, no, here the player is a SUMMONER which has his own abilities and upgrades that affect the champion in one way or another.
Lol is a battle arena video game developed by none other but RIOT games.
To get back at summoners/ players. Summoners gain experience as they play with which they earn new levels. The max level a summoner can achieve is level 30. When a summoner gains a level he unlocks MASTERY POINTS and RUNE PAGE SLOTS which improve the overall strength of the champion a summoner chooses. The summoner can have 2 different spells, which have a great impact on the gameplay. The summoner spells although are free when it
comes to mana, the CD (cooldown) on them is high. The spells can be upgraded and improved by masteries which are developed in a skill tree. They are also all passive effects.
The spells are devided into three categories. Offensive, defensive and utility.
To sum it all up, a great game which has soul and killer gameplay.
